Protecting and restoring nature is at the root of sustainable development.
The climate crisis has its epicenter in the overexploitation of natural resources. Since 2019, Igarapé has worked to confront the web of environmental crimes that are degrading strategic biomes in Brazil and beyond. In the Amazon Basin, our goal is to transform ecosystems of environmental crime into ecosystems of green enterprises, aligned with forest protection and the well-being of its peoples.
To protect and restore nature, and to prevent the intensification of global warming, we promote nature-based solutions, new models of governance, and responsible financing capable of generating bioeconomies connected to local communities.
