Igarapé at Climate Weeks

Igarapé has participated since 2022 in the New York Climate Week, one of the world’s leading forums on climate and sustainable development, helping to foster dialogue and action among diverse actors in the global climate and environmental debate.

In 2023, together with other institutions, we organized a luncheon between the Minister of Finance, Fernando Haddad, and an international group of public and private policy leaders, for a discussion on the Ecological Transformation Plan, which was launched months later at COP28. In addition, we participated in panels on climate justice, technological regulation, and socioeconomic inclusion.

The following year, in an agenda connected to the UN Summit of the Future, which took place around the same time, we expanded our engagement by organizing three of our own events and participating in at least six panels, addressing major global themes that intersected with discussions at the upcoming G20 in Brazil and COP30. We presented the Green Bridge Facility initiative, aimed at expanding green investments in the Amazon.

At another major international climate event, the London Climate Action Week, held in June 2025, we took part in high-level meetings, including discussions on nature finance with international leaders and the presence of King Charles III. During the first edition of the Rio Climate Action Week, in August, Igarapé organized a roundtable on Brazil’s strategic role in negotiations on investments in natural capital.

This continuous presence demonstrates our commitment to bringing innovative solutions and integrating local and global agendas to address the climate and biodiversity crisis.
